Dear Friends, As we conclude the 2nd regular session of the 55th Legislature, it remains my absolute honor to represent the interests of businesses, industry, families, and children in New Mexico. My influence as a member of the powerful Senate Finance Committee has proved to be a valuable role in directing financial resources to more responsible investments throughout our state, specifically those in rural areas. I am pleased to report that we were successful in defeating many pieces of legislation that would have resulted in irreparable damage to our communities, including efforts that would have placed an additional 20-50 cent increase on the cost of already high fuel prices (SB14). I proudly co-sponsored legislation to increase election security (SB6) and to limit the Governors powers under an emergency health order (SB196). Just as I promised during my campaign, I fought to bring the voice of rural New Mexico to Santa Fe. This budget session, I worked to bring additional funding to our chile farmers and wine growers. My investment in our youth included the allocation of funds to statewide 4H and FFA programs and investment in major renovations and rebuilds of our rural county fairgrounds with my capital outlay allocations. The fight to protect our values continues outside legislative session, but I need your financial help to maintain the momentum. As a volunteer legislature, political activity of legislators is funded directly by loyal contributors like yourself. I am proud of the fight we put up in Santa Fe, but I need your help to maintain our efforts. Thank you in advance for your continued support. I am committed to the fight – to protect our home, our families, and our way of life. Click to Donate. Sincerely, ![]() |
